A list of foods that help with "cravings"

So today, I'm giving you a list of foods that can help to "curb" the "cravings" that are sabotaging our "New Year's goals" of being healthier and losing some weight.

And they would be . . .

Asparagus

Avocados

Beans

Blueberries

Broccoli

Brown rice

Brussel sprouts

Cabbage

Carrots

Cauliflower

Chia seeds

Chicken

Coconut oil

Cucumber,

Celery

Eggs

Fish

Leafy greens

Lentils

Oats

Olive oil

Pistachios

Plain Greek yogurt

Quinoa

Reduce caffeine

Replace sugar with "spices"

Spirulina

Sweet potatoes

Turkey

Zucchini

And the reason these foods work so well . . . are due to being either "compliant" proteins . . . or high in "fiber".

Okay . . . so let's better understand the "mechanics" of the human body and keeping it "in balance".

As blood "glucose" (sugar) rises . . . the body naturally tries to "compensate" by "releasing" more of the hormone called "Insulin" from the "pancreas".

But . . . the more "empty calories" we consume . . . the greater the chance that our cells will become "less" responsive to this hormone "Insulin". And with that . . . it leaves us with "Insulin Resistance".

Okay . . . so now combine . . . "elevated" blood "glucose" levels . . . and "Insulin resistance" . . . and this sets the stage for a host of "chronic" conditions like . . . type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, depression, anxiety and age-related cognitive problems like Alzheimer's.

You see . . . "excessive" sugar consumption is closely tied to "oxidative stress" which are tissue damaging free radicals that can damage our DNA . . .

Okay . . . so one more hormone to "beating" our "cravings" would be . . .

The "STRESS" hormone called "cortisol" . . . which is a major factor in winning this war of "UNCONTROLLABLE CRAVINGS".

Why you ask???

Well . . . a large "release" of the hormone "cortisol" can actually "stimulate" . . . you guessed it . . . "sugar cravings" . . .

You see . . . the hormone "cortisol" . . . is the body's "master" stress hormone . . . relating to mood, motivation and fear . . . and is "released as a "response" to our stress and adrenaline levels.

And with this . . . in a "stressful" time . . . it diverts our "energy" away from the "immune system" . . . all while causing "sugar cravings" . . . and an increase in "blood pressure" . . . which can cause a deficiency in "digestion".

And if that's not bad enough . . . "high" levels of "cortisol" . . . due to overeating "sugar" . . . can take excess "glucose" created by our "adrenaline" . . . and "store" it as "FAT" in the stomach.

Now add "caffeine" consumption into this equation . . . which can "stimulate" the "release" of even more "cortisol" . . . and we've just caused a greater "reaction" to the issues we just spoken of.

Okay . . . so yesterday we spoke of the devastation to the body a poor breakfast can cause . . .

Well . . . here's just another reason . . .

Having the combination of coffee and a "carbohydrate" like a pastry or something for breakfast . . . can give you a "massive" sugar rush" . . . which you think is just your coffee kicking in with energy . . .

BUT . . . it's really the "cortisol" increasing . . . which then takes the excess "glucose" to store as "FAT" . . . leaving us now . . . with an "energy dip" and "cravings" for more "sugary foods" all day long.

So tomorrow, I'll give you one of my little special to "cutting" the "cravings".
