An "Immune System" Booster

So today . . . I thought I'd give you one of my favorite "Immunity" drinks for optimal health.

And that would be . . .

The "immune system booster" . . . "Beet, Carrot and Orange" Juice

And here we go . . .

Ingredients: 4 servings

1 organic beet (peeled)

16 ounces of organic carrots (cut up)

32 ounces of oranges (peeled)

1 tablespoon of Manuka honey (warmed)


Chop up beet, carrots and oranges

Place them in a juicer and juice for about 3 minutes

Remove and put in a pitch

Add honey, stir and enjoy

This yummy little drink is about 177 calories per serving size

And what are the benefits of this "Immunity Drink"???

Well . . .

"Beets" - are rich in "iron" and "vitamin C". And they can help to create healthy "red blood cells" which can fight against infections. Beets also are high in "fiber" which promotes the growth of "good" bacteria in the gut. They can help reduce blood pressure, anemia, improve circulation and cognitive function.

Beets are also rich in "nitrates" which reduce "inflammation" by removing harmful compounds from the bloodstream. This in turn . . . can help to relief conditions like "rheumatoid arthritis" and "fibromyalgia".

And if you're looking to lose some weight . . . Beets are one of the top vegetables that can provide you with long-term weight loss results because it's packed with powerful compounds that can boost a reduction in "stomach fat".

"Carrots" - are rich in "vitamin C" which can help the body build "antibodies" that defend the immune system. The body also converts the "beta-carotene" from carrots into "vitamin A which signals the body to create more "white blood cells" that can help to fight infections.

The "fiber" in carrots can help keep "blood sugar" levels under control and the "vitamin A" can lower the risk factor of "diabetes". They are rich in "calcium" and "vitamin K" which can strengthen bones.

And carrots promote "eye health", reduce the risk of cancer and aid in weight loss.

"Oranges" - are rich in "vitamin C" which can strengthen the immune system by protecting cells and promoting the production and function of "immune cells"

They protect the body from cell damage, help the body make "collagen", makes it easier to absorb iron to fight anemia and boosts the immune system to defend against germs.

BUT . . . this is not store bought "orange juice" because that's loaded with "sugar".

And finally . . . "Manuka honey" - is very high in "enzymes" . . . even higher than regular local honey. And it's known for its gut healthy benefits like for small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), low stomach acid and acid reflux or GERD, And Manuka honey can balance the body's ratio of "good" to "bad" bacteria . . .

Okay . . . so let's try "boosting" our "immune system" with a little tangy drink to stay healthy this fall and winter.
