Today . . . let's talk about another "missing" element from our diet . . .
And that would be . . . the "enzyme" called "Protease".
Now . . . we've spoken about how "many" of us are in need of "digestive enzymes" to digest this difficult Western diet.
So today . . . we're going to talk about a specific "enzyme" that's critical to optimal health.
Okay . . . so what is "protease"???
Well . . . simply put . . . it's an "enzyme" that breaks down "protein" in the body and on the skin . . . into "amino acids" that the body's cells use for energy. It also helps keep the "bad" bacteria I'm always talking about, yeast and protozoa . . . out of the intestines . . . which is a "great" thing.
Now . . . the body "does" make its own "protease" . . . and where you ask???
Well . . . "protease" is produced in the "stomach", "pancreas" and "small intestine". And like other digestive enzymes . . . it helps the body digest the food it needs to live and thrive.
Okay . . . so how do we know if we're "protease deficient"???
Well . . . a "protease deficiency" is associated with "DRYNESS"
Meaning . . . "dry" extremities and "dry" skin rashes. It can also cause . . . constipation, calcium deficiency, gingivitis, fungal infections, hypertension, hearing loss, tooth decay and mood swings
And with this . . . it can lead to "allergies" or "toxicity" in the intestines.
Now . . . we "do" get this enzyme "protease" from some of the food we eat . .
But . . . more time than not with this Western diet we love so much . . . we don't get enough
And with this . . . if the body's "needs" are NOT met for this enzyme . . . since the body can't "store" protein . . . it's "stored" as "FAT".
That's right people . . . "FAT"
