Avocado and Coconut Oils - Good or Not?

So yesterday we spoke about 2 of the worst oils you can use for your health. Today we're going to talk about the 2 best!
First . . . Avocado oil.
Avocado oil is by far the safest oil for high heat cooking like frying, due to its extremely high smoke point (as high as 500 degrees). But not good for deep frying, And deep frying with any oil is detrimental to your health.
Avocado oil is an excellent source of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, minerals and vitamin. It's rich in Oleic Acid a very healthy fat which reduces cholesterol and improves heart health. It's high in Lutein an antioxidant that has benefit for the eyes and may reduce symptoms of arthritis. It has also been known to help prevent gum disease, improves skin and enhances wound healing.
Adding this oil to your diet can help to lower low density lipid (LDL) or "bad" cholesterol levels. This is a particularly good diet choice for diabetics.
Okay . . . and now my favorite oil . . . Coconut oil! And this is why!
Coconut oil contains 2 key elements to optimal health. "Caprylic acid" is one of three fatty acids found in coconut oil. It has potent antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties, It's a medium-chain fatty acid that we cannot produce ourselves and we can't live without.
"Caprylic acid" aids in proper nutrition and weight loss, gives oxygen support throughout the body, provides energy for cells, aids in the absorption of vitamins and mineral, and development of strong tissue and organs. promotes proper nerve function, helps lower cholesterol and helps produce healthy hormones.
The other key element in coconut oil is "monoLaurin". This element boosts immunity, which increases the number of T-cells (we spoke of them in a previous Health Tip - being one of the white blood cells of the immune system). These killer T-cells hunt down and destroy cells that are infected with germs, bacteria and VIRUSES or that have become cancerous. And here's a biggie . . . it stops "virus" replication - by blocking DNA replication signals.
"MonoLaurin" kills such viruses as: Epstein-Barr, HIV-1 and HIV+, Measles, Influenza, Herpes Simplex 1 & 2 and has been effective against Herpes virus causing chickenpox and shingles.
It kills bacteria such as: fungus, H. pylori, staph infections and parasites like Lyme disease.
It aids in weight control because fat-coated viruses can live in your fat and disturb metabolism which promotes obesity. And here another biggie . . . it's beneficial to "Alzheimer's patients" because the liver converts monolaurin into ketones, which are an important alternative energy source for the brain.
Now . . . an important factor is what kind of Coconut oil you should buy. It must be:
Organic Cold pressed or Expeller pressed "UNREFINED" coconut oil
(Cold pressed - means it was lightly processed and will taste like a coconut)
(Expeller pressed - means it was processed a little bit more but still not too processed and will taste a little nutty) But both are good for you.
Now the big element to look for is UNREFINED - meaning it have "not" been processed with chemicals and the compound of the oil has "not" been changed. REFINED - means it "has" been processed and chemically changed . . . this is NOT GOOD.
So get your cooking groove on with a healthy oil
