"Blindness" - of "vision" or "mind"?

There was an English author named Samuel Butler that once said . . .

"A "blind" man knows he cannot see, and is glad to be led, though it be by a dog;

But he that is "blind" in his understanding, which is the worst blindness of all, believes he sees as the best and scorns a guide".

Today we live in a world of "blindness". We put on our blinders and see only what we want or feel at that moment in time.

Many of us today have lost sight of our "vision" and believe that "vision" and "mission" are one in the same.

"Vision" of mind is the bigger picture in life. It's about your future and life's "vision" defines what you want to be known for and the set of experiences and accomplishments that you aim for. Where "mission" is a focus on today and what you do through your actions and behaviour.

In the "Theory of Mind" . . . "Mind-blindness" is a state where "ToM" has been lost.

"Vision" determines "mission". And with this . . . it's "vision" that defines the end game in life. Where "mission" is only the road map that will take you there.

If you have lost your mind's vision and have become "blind" to the bigger picture in life . . . then you will surely act out of "mission" . . . which is nothing other than the heat of the moment, the looking good factor or what someone else's "vision" is.

Simple said . . . the paradox of "vision" is that the mind fills in what the "eyes" don't see!
