"Boosting Immunity"

Okay . . . so fall is here and cold and flu season is right around the corner.

So how do we "prevent" it from taking over our body and health???

Well . . . what we "eat" and "drink" has a lot to do with how we'll make it through the fall and winter months.

So let's come up with a plan . . .

First question . . .

What foods and drink can help this mission of making it through the holidays "WITHOUT" getting sick???

Well . . . eating organic fruits and vegetable is a great way to start . . .

You see . . . "citrus fruits" are high in "vitamin C" which is a nutrient known to help give our "immune system" a boost.

And this is done by "encouraging" the immune system to produce more "white blood cells" that are necessary for fighting off bacterial and viral infections.

"Pineapple" is another excellent fruit to add to the diet . . . why?

Well . . . "pineapples" are also rich in "vitamin C" . . . but they also contain vitamin A, B6, E, K and calcium . . . which are important for immune system health.

And guess what else is high in "vitamin C"???

Well . . . that would be . . . strawberries and raspberries . . . and these two little berries actually have MORE vitamin C than eating an orange . . .

Okay . . . so what about "veggies"???

Well . . . "leafy greens" such as spinach, kale, chard, collard greens, arugula and lettuce are loaded with vitamin C, K, beta carotene, folate and fiber . . . which all boost the immune system.

And what about "spices" . . . since "fall" is the season for enjoying them?

Well . . . many "spices" have "antibacterial", anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiviral and antimicrobial properties that can relieve infections in the digestive tract. "Garlic" and "ginger" are also great anti-inflammatories, antioxidants, antivirals and antimicrobials . . . which can help to protect our immune system and keep it healthy.

And a good winter "tea" would be to boil some garlic and ginger together . . . this remedy is great for our immunity and as an added "BONUS" . . .

It's great for weight loss in the fall and winter months when "candy" and "baked" goods are "EVERYWHERE"!

And finally . . . due to our body losing lots of water through sweat, digestion and urination . . . it's imperative to keep it "hydrated" . . . . especially in the fall and winter months.

Why you ask???

Well . . . as "winter" approaches and the temperatures begin to drop . . . the air around us tends to become "drier" and therefore . . . our body receives "LESS" moisture.

And "LESS" moisture in the body can cause our "immune system" to become weaker.

So as an "immune system" booster . . . DRINK MORE WATER!!!!!!!
