"Caramel" and our "kidneys"


Okay . . . so as we all know . . . "phosphorus" . . . is a mineral found in our bones . . . and the body needs it to stay healthy.


We also know . . . that the body needs "potassium" to help maintain "normal" levels of "fluid" inside our "cells". And to help our muscles to "contract" and supports "normal" blood pressure.


But . . . "IF" . . . the level of "phosphorus" is TOO high in the body . . . it can cause body changes that "pull" calcium out of our bones . . . making them weak and more apt to fracture or break.


And having too much "potassium" in our blood can also be dangerous . . . this is due to the way "potassium" affects the heart's muscles.


And if the heart beats irregularly . . . this could lead to a heart attack.


And guess what???


"Caramel" is "high" in both "phosphorus" and "potassium" . . . and it's in just about everything we love in this western diet.


Okay . . . so how does "caramel" affect our "kidneys???


Well . . . consistent doses of "caramel dye 4" can promote "oxidative stress" to the liver and "kidneys".


And what is "oxidative stress" you ask???


Well . . . simply put . . . it's a phenomenon caused by an "IMBALANCE" between production and accumulation of "oxygen reactive species" in "CELLS" and tissues . . .


You see . . . "oxidative stress" to the body or our organs . . . has the ability to break down cell tissue . . . and cause DNA damage.


And this damage can result in "inflammation" . . . which is a leading factor in diabetes and CANCER!!!!

This "caramel dye 4" is in almost everything we consume . . . and consuming enough . . . can cause a rise in "phosphorus" and "potassium" . . . affecting our liver and kidneys.


So, buyer beware . . .


And on a lessor level . . . there are even certain ingredients used in making "caramel coloring" . . . that can cause an allergic reaction . . . especially if you have "celiac disease" or a "gluten intolerance".


Even "Starbucks" knows "caramel coloring" is "BAD" . . . because they recently "removed" caramel coloring from their products and replaced it with . . . a natural coloring from annatto.


Come on people . . . listen up!!!!
