"Diabetes" . . . what do we know?

So even though today is "April Fools Day" . . . having "diabetes" is "no joke"

So let's take the day and discover the possibilities of relieving the suffering of this uncomfortable disease.

Now, as we know . . . "diabetes" is a chronic, long lasting health condition that affects how the body turns "food" into "energy".

And there are 34.2 million people in the U.S. that have been diagnosed with Diabetes . . . 88 million adults diagnosed with Pre-diabetes.

And another estimate 7 million more of us . . . that "don't" even know we have it yet?

Now, what about the death rate for "diabetes"???

Well . . . the last report done was in 2020 . . . and there was a 3.4% increase in cases from the previous year of 2019. With sadly . . . 270,000 people dying from diabetes in 2019

And unfortunately . . . the peak age for being diagnosed with "type 1" diabetes is around 13 years old . . . but . . . this diagnosis can happen even younger including babies . . . or over 40 years of age.

And "type 2" diabetes most commonly develops around the age 45 . . . but again more and more children, teen and young adults are developing this disease due to this Western diet we love so much.

So my question is this . . . are we willing to just live with diabetes? Or are we ready to take a stand and help to eliminate this disease?

Well today . . . let's better understand . . .

Believe it or not . . . there are answers to this debilitating disease and ways to help eliminate it "naturally"!

Okay . . . so first . . . as we all know from previous Health Tips . . . "Insulin" is a very important and life sustaining hormone in the body. And if we are healthy . . . this 'insulin" that is produced by the pancreas, regulates the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood.

Now, this "insulin" allows the body to use sugar (glucose) from carbohydrates in the food we eat, to be used as "cell energy". And when the cells have enough . . . the liver and muscle tissues store the extra "glucose" in the form of "glycogen".

This glycogen is then broken down into sugar again and released when you need energy between meals, during exercise or while you sleep.

Simple enough . . . right???

So what is this illness all about then?

Well . . . "diabetes" is a disease in which your blood "glucose" (or blood sugar) levels are too high or too low.

With "type 1" diabetes . . . being a chronic disease in which cells in the "pancreas" that make the hormone "Insulin" are "destroyed" . . . and the body is "UNABLE" to make enough "insulin" due to the pancreas being disabled.

In this case . . . getting "insulin" from another source is necessary for survival to move "glucose" from the bloodstream into the body's cells. Now, type I diabetes develops very quickly and symptoms are obvious.

But . . . for people with "type 2" diabetes . . . there's "nothing" wrong with the pancreas and it "IS" making the hormone "insulin" correctly, but the body's cells have stopped responding well to this hormone.

The body then struggles to move "glucose" from the blood into the cells . . . despite adequate levels of this hormone. Therefore, the body thinks the pancreas has made enough "insulin" . . . and therefore the pancreas stops making adequate "insulin" for the body to function correctly.

And unfortunately . . . this situation . . . will get to the point of not making "insulin" at all.

Now, "type 2" diabetes can develop over many years. And as I stated above, many of us don't even know we have an issue until a chronic condition occurs . . . and then we're diagnosed with diabetes!

Okay . . . so even though conventional medicine and its science says there's no cure . . . and that we can only "manage" this disease . . .

There are ways to accomplish the mission of reversing "type 2" diabetes . . . we just have to do a little "out of the box" thinking to get there.

And tomorrow, we'll continue
