Happy St. Patrick's Day

So today, I thought since we're talking about dieting and "FOCUSING" on the prize of optimal health . . .

I'd give you a little insight on a favorite little "cheat" for many of us while celebrating St. Patrick's day.

You see . . . sometimes seeing the reality of a little "cheat" treat . . . helps put things in perspective on a "guilty" little pleasure.

Okay . . . so I won't mention any names . . . but there's this "guilty" little drink called the "Shamrock Shake" that's offered this time of year.

This shake has been around for over 30+ years and has advertised that it only has 4 ingredients which include . . . vanilla "reduced" fat ice cream, shamrock shake syrup, whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.

So how bad can that be, right???

It's got "reduced" fat ice cream in it . . .

BUT . . . the problem is this . . . each one of those ingredients is involved with 10 to 15 other ingredients.

So let's break it down . . . because many times we tell ourselves . . . it's only a "little" treat . . . right???

Well . . . let's start with the vanilla "reduced" fat ice cream. How bad can that be???

Well . . . it contains: milk, SUGAR, cream, nonfat milk solids, "corn syrup solids" (which is sugar), mono- and diglycerides, guar gum, "dextrose" (which is sugar), sodium citrate, "artificial" vanilla flavor, sodium phosphate, "disodium phosphate" (which is derived from stone and has been shown to contain radioactive agents), cellulose gum, vitamin A palmitate and "carrageenan" (a toxic filler that is often found in products such as frozen dinner, ice cream and soups and has been linked to "inflammatory" conditions such as leaky gut, digestive issues and cancer).
