Okay people . . .
So have you ever wondered . . . just how many "calories" we actually "burn" each day???
Well, guess what???
Many of us "think" . . . we "burn" . . . way MORE calories . . . than we "actually" do.
So let's take today . . . and figure out the "REAL" truth of it.
Now first . . . let's talk about . . . how many calories the body "actually" NEEDS to survive and function properly.
The "Dietary Guidelines for Americans" states . . .
The average adult "woman" . . . expends roughly 1600 - 24oo calories per day
And the average adult "man" . . . expends roughly 2000 - 3000 calories per day
And the average person will "BURN" about 1800 calories per day "WITHOUT" exercise.
Got it so far???
Okay . . . so here's the deal . . .
In order for the body to maintain "optimal" health and weight . . .
The body "MUST" have the "correct" ratio of "calories IN" . . . to "calories OUT"
And this is what that means . . .
Say the body "burns" 2000 calories per day . . .
And we "consume" 2000 calories per day . . .
Well . . . this would be an example of the "correct" ratio for maintaining optimal health and weight . . .
BUT . . . say the body "burns" 2000 calories per day . . .
And we "consume" 2500 calories per day . . .
Then the body will store those "extra" 500 calories as "FAT" or protein.
Do you see where I'm going here???
So in order to "STILL" maintain a healthy body and weight . . .
We would "NOW" have to do something to "BURNS" those "EXTRA" 500 calories
This scenario happens all the time and especially with this Western diet we love so much
And simply put . . .
This is why most of us are "BATTLING THE BULGE".
"MORE" calories IN . . . then calories OUT!
