So today . . . let's discover how "maltodextrin" fits in with "artificial sweeteners".
First . . . it's a "complementary" ingredient to sweeteners like "sucralose" and "stevia" . . .
That's right . . . even "stevia"!!!
So I guess the next question we need to ask is this . . .
Is "maltodextrin" a FAKE or a REAL sugar???
Well . . . the answer to that is . . . NEITHER
"Maltodextrin" IS NOT a sugar . . . although it "behaves" in a similar way that sugar does in the body by "impacting" our blood sugar levels.
So, it's not a "real" sugar . . . and it's not even considered a "fake" sugar . . . it's a FILLER!
Okay . . . so what "artificial" or "substitute" sweeteners contain "maltodextrin"???
Well . . . first up . . . "Stevia In The Raw Baking Bags".
"Maltodextrin" is used in this product to "dilute" the very potent Stevia Leaf Extract
Another reason it's used . . . is to make it "measurable" for consumers in "cup-for-cup" sweetening equivalency as a sugar replacement.
And what about "Splenda"???
Well . . . that too contains "maltodextrin" . . . which also brings the calorie content up.
And then there's . . . Sucralose . . . and Aspartame, which we already know can cause "cancer".
It's even added to the products that say . . . NO ADDED SUGAR . . . to "replace the sugar" . . .
BUT . . . it's still a GMO . . . HIGHLY REFINED CARBOHYDRATE . . . with a HIGHER glycemic index than REAL "sugar".
And "Maltodextrin" has a detrimental impact to our intestinal environment by promoting "depletion" of the protective mucus layer . . . which can cause the development of "intestinal inflammation"
And this can cause . . .
Rashes and itching
It can also cause . . .
Insulin levels to spike
Type 2 diabetes
And consuming "maltodextrin" LONG TERM . . . can cause a problem with the body's insulin which is a "growth hormone" . . .
And with this . . . it will allow "tumor cells" to grow more "RAPIDLY", which will cause a hormonal "imbalance" in the sex hormones called "estrogen" and "testosterone".
So tomorrow . . . let's finish this "silent killer" with why it's in our supplements.
