So today . . . let's talk about one of the "biggest" dangers to our health . . .
And that would be . . . "MALTODEXTRIN"!!!
So what is "maltodextrin" you ask???
Well . . . it's actually considered a . . . "natural" element . . . because it "does" come from the food we grow . . .
BUT . . . it's manufactured from "GMO" corn, potatoes, rice and wheat . . . which are all "HIGHLY" processed.
And right there . . . we have a problem!!!
You see . . . this "element" is used as a filler, preservative and/or thickener in food and beverages.
And guess what???
The FDA also has other "hidden" name for this additive like . . . corn syrup solids, modified corn starch, modified rice starch and modified wheat starch.
Now . . . "maltodextrin" is used as a thickener or filler to "increase" the volume of a processed food . . . and as a preservative that "increases" the "shelf-life" of that packaged food.
And . . . the reason it's so widely used . . . is due to it being "inexpensive" and easy to produce . . .
Manufacturers use it to thicken products like . . .
Instant puddings and gelatins
Cooked cereals like oatmeal
Energy and sports drinks
And artificial sweeteners
It's even in some of our lotions and haircare products.
So, in a nutshell . . . why is "maltodextrin" so bad for us???
Well . . . it's made into a "SUGAR" substance . . . that is "high" in "glycemic index" . . . which in turn . . . will "SPIKES" blood sugar levels!!!
