My favorite "Breakfast Drink" and Why!

Okay . . . so today, I'm going to give you one of my favorite homemade "breakfast drinks"

And that would be . . . a "Blueberry Hemp seed Smoothie"

Why you ask???

Well . . . it's the perfect "anti-inflammatory" breakfast

So here we go . . . it contains . . .

Ingredients: 1 serving

1 ¼ cups of frozen blueberries

1 tablespoon hemp seeds

½ cup packed organic baby spinach

1 teaspoon of spirulina powder

1 ¼ cup organic unsweetened coconut milk

Add all ingredients to a blender, mix until smooth and creamy and enjoy!

Okay . . . so let's discover why . . .

First up . . . Hemp seeds

Hemp seeds are an excellent source of plant-based "protein" that's easily absorbed into the body and has 9 essential amino acids.

It's also an excellent source of "magnesium" and rich in the fatty acid called GLA, which helps regulate hormone levels in the body. And the proper amount of GLA can reduce symptoms associated with diabetic neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, ADHD, high blood pressure, acne and eczema.

"Hemp seed's" high level of "terpenes" which is an antioxidant . . . is known for being an excellent "anti-inflammatory" and "antiallergenic". . . and has the ability to reduce pain and stiffness of arthritis.

"Hemp seeds" can keep your cholesterol balanced by reducing the levels of "bad" LDL cholesterol, while maintaining "good" HDL cholesterol levels.

It also contains both "insoluble and soluble fiber" . . . so these little seeds are perfect for reducing the effects of IBS by aiding proper digestion.

And due to this "fiber" . . . they can aid in our weight loss efforts. They allow the food we eat to break down gradually and more completely, prevent blood sugar spikes and crashes that induce cravings.

"Hemp seeds" also aid in "brain health" . . . because they're about 30% fat and the brain need this particular fat for optimal health. Which is fuel for cognitive function,

And best yet . . . due to the balance of fatty acids and GLA . . . they naturally reduce inflammation levels and strengthen the immune system which can fight the overpopulation of free radicals and reduce the risk of such cancers as breast, colon and prostate.

Now . . . just one cup of "blueberries" contains 24% of a persons recommended daily allowance of vitamin C. "Blueberries" can aid in heart health, bone strength, skin health, blood pressure, diabetes management, cancer prevention and mental health.

They also can influence genes which regulate "fat-burning" and storage helping to reduce abdominal fat.

"Blueberries" contain a plant compound called "anthocyanin" which acts as an antioxidant that fights free radicals and offers anti-inflammatory, and "anti-viral" effects.

Next up . . . "baby spinach" . . .

Now . . . "Baby spinach" is loaded with "potassium" which is excellent for heart health, lowing blood pressure and reducing the risk of stroke and heart disease.

"Baby spinach" can also speed up the weight loss process which makes it easier to shed the pound. And why does this work so well??? Because of the "insoluble fiber" it contains.

Now . . . "Spirulina" contains a powerful plant-based protein and strong antioxidants for pain-relief due to it's anti-inflammatory properties.

It's an excellent appetite suppressant which partly modifies serum lipids and modulate body weight and appetite. And can help control and prevent obesity and obesity related disorders.

Finally . . . organic "unsweetened" coconut milk because it's a healthy "medium" chain triglycerides fat, which can lower LDL "bad" cholesterol and increase HDL "good" cholesterol.

And this is why this healthy, compliant "breakfast drink" is one of my favorites.
