One of the many "Secret" Weapons for Optimal Health

So today . . . let's talk about yet another way to help control "high" cholesterol.
And that would be with the spice called "Cardamom"
Now . . . "cardamom" is also known as the “Queen of Spices,”
"Cardamom" is used for "digestion" problems like heartburn, intestinal spasms, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), intestinal gas, constipation and liver and gallbladder issues,
It's also used for common colds, coughs, bronchitis, sore mouth and throat and infections.
Now . . . some of the other many "secrets" to optimal healthy "cardamom" holds are . . .
The ability to prevent anxious behavior . . .
You see . . . anxiety is due to a low blood level of "antioxidants" and when this happens this level is linked to the development of anxiety and other mood disorders.
And how does "cardamom" help this issue???
Well . . . "cardamom" contains a flavonoid called "Quercetin" . . . and this flavonoid has anti-anxiety effects in the brain by reducing the release of specific hormones.
Okay . . . so moving on . . . "Cardamom's" anti-inflammatory benefits have the ability to decrease inflammatory marker in the body. And as we know . . . inflammation is the cause of many of our illnesses . . . even weight issues.
This little spice also has antispasmodic properties that can reduce contractions in the intestinal, bronchial and heart tissue, which stimulates tissue relaxation. Therefore . . . it may reduce gut distress, asthma symptoms and blood pressure.
And with this . . . people that suffer from asthma and bronchitis have used "cardamom" to help improve blood circulation in the lungs by blood thinning action for centuries in other cultures.
"Cardamom" can prevent cancer-causing DNA damage . . . and it has the ability to increase the activity of Natural Killer Cells which can cause cancer cell death.
Okay . . . so you can clearly see just how important this little spice can be to our health.
But . . . what about our "high cholesterol" we've been talking about for the past few days???
Well . . . "cardamom" is also a powerful "antioxidant", that can seek out free radicals and prevent their damage to our DNA. And with this . . . it increases the activity of some of our liver enzymes, which in turn . . . can detoxify the body of foreign compounds like "cholesterol".
Okay . . . but even better yet . . . "cardamom" . . . is excellent for "liver" protection . . .
And as we now know from the past few days conversation . . .
The liver play a major role in our "cholesterol" levels.
And "cardamom" can decrease elevated liver enzymes, triglycerides and "cholesterol" levels. It may also prevent liver enlargement and liver weight, which reduces the risk of fatty liver disease.
Many studies have shown 19% overall decrease in "total" cholesterol, a 25% decrease in LDL (bad) cholesterol and a 15% decrease in triglycerides in people that take green cardamom powder over a 3 month period.
The Natural Library of Medicine, National Center for Biotechnology Information states . . .
"Studies show . . . "cardamom" facilitated a significant reduction in blood total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, accompanied by a marked decrease in serum triglycerides. The cholesterol content of cardiac muscle was beneficially lowered and liver triglycerides were reduced."
BUT . . . as always . . . please check with your own healthcare provide before adding any new spices to your daily diet.
NOTE: "Cardamom" does have some drug interactions . . . so again . . . talk to your own healthcare provider before using this spice.
And since tomorrow we'll be talking about our weight loss efforts again . . .
"Cardamom" also stimulates digestion and "boosts" the metabolism . . . helping to burn body fat more effectively.
And as an added bonus . . . "cardamom" has the ability to detoxify unwanted chemicals and toxins from the body . . . which in turn . . . for people with hot flashes and/or night sweats . . . this can tone down the body's heat from within.
Why you ask???
Well . . . "cardamom" is an excellent "hormone balancer" that also promotes weight loss.
