SIBO - continued

So today . . . let's continue the discussion about "SIBO" . . .

Okay . . . so we now know . . . that "SIBO" is an overgrowth of "bad" bacteria in the "small intestine".

So, let's go over how the human body is supposed to work . . . so we can better understand "why" . . . SIBO can occur.

As we know . . . the "large intestine" (colon) . . . houses the largest amount of "good" and "bad" bacteria in the body.

And the ratio for "optimal" health is . . . "good" a little more than "bad".

You see . . . "good" bacteria is supposed to keep the "bad" bacteria in check . . . this is how a healthy large intestine "should" act.

But . . . when "bad" bacteria "OVERWHELMES" the "good" bacteria in the large intestine . . .

WE'RE NOW IN TROUBLE!!!!

So how does this happen???

Well . . . hang on to your horses people . . . because here's the list . . .

Number 1 . . . This "western" diet we love so much . . . due to it being "HIGH" in fat and sugar . . . and "LOW" in fiber

Next up . . .

Not eating a diverse range of foods

Lack of "pre"biotics in the diet

Lack of "pro"biotics in the diet

Drinking "too much" alcohol

Antibiotic use

Lack of regular physical activity

Cigarette smoking or actually smoking of "ANY" kind

Not getting enough sleep

Too much stress Eating "refined" sugar

Eating factory-farm meat, refined grains (GMO), saturated fats and fried foods

Okay . . . so once the "bad" bacteria "OVERTAKES" the "good" in the large intestine . . . they start to migrate north.

You see . . . you would think, they'd be happy ruling the roast in the "large intestine" . . . but NOOOOOOOO!!!

They decide to "travel" up to the "small intestine".

Now . . . the "small intestine" is supposed to be basically "sterile" . . . with only "good" bacteria as a "gatekeeper" where the "small intestine" and the "large intestine" meet.

But . . . when the "bad" bacteria in the "large intestine" are running amuck and overbearing in strength . . . they get through the "gatekeeper's wall" . . . and invade the "small intestine".

This now . . . allows the "bad" bacteria to set up "housekeeping" in the "small intestine" . . . and BOOM . . . we now have "SIBO"!!!

And with this . . . it "slows" the passage of food and waste products in the digestive tract . . . creating a "breeding" ground for more "bad" bacteria.

So tomorrow . . . let's dig even deeper.
