"Stimulating" our "Vagus Nerve"!


So, yesterday . . . we spoke about the function of the "Vagus Nerve" . . . and "Lower Vagal Tone" . . .


So today . . . let's continue . . .


Now . . . the "vagus nerve" . . . as we have discovered . . . touches "all" of our digestive organs . . . and if "NOT" working properly . . . in most cases . . . it causes "CONSTIPATION".


With other issues being . . .


Abdominal pain and bloating

Acid reflux

Changes to heart rate, blood pressure or blood sugar

Difficulty swallowing or loss of gag reflex

Dizziness or fainting

Hoarseness

Wheezing

Or loss of voice


These are "all" warning signs that we have a "vagus nerve" issue!!!


Now . . . we can also have "vagus nerve" DAMAGE as a result from . . . diabetes, viral infections like COVID19, abdominal surgery and scleroderma.


Okay . . . so, now that we know how we can acquire "Lower Vagal Tone" . . .


How can we fix it . . . or "stimulate" it . . . for optimal health???


Well . . . for one . . . "drinking" more water!!!


You see . . . "dehydration" alone . . . can be enough to "alter" our "vagal" activity.


And "loud gargling" with water . . . "loud singing" . . . or even "loud humming" . . . can "activate" the vocal cords . . . which in turn . . . "STIMULATES" the "vagus nerve".


So . . . start SINGING out loud PEOPLE . . . make the world a happier place!!!


Some other things we can do would be . . .


A foot massage

Cold water face immersion

Cold shower in the morning

Correcting our "gut" function

Breathing techniques

Reducing jaw tension (stop chewing gum people)

And decompress the neck


And this week . . . we'll be talking about what "happens" when the "vagus nerve" IS "stimulate" . . .

Why eye movement "stimulates" it . . .
