Stomach bugs that are affecting our weight!

Okay . . . so we've spoken of this "bad" bacteria in previous Health tips . . . but it needs to be repeated when it comes to the ability to lose weight.

So let me ask you this . . . Do you have???

An ache or burning pain in the abdomen

Abdominal pain that's worse when your stomach is empty

Bloating

Heartburn

Acid reflux

Peptic ulcers

Hiatal hernia

Frequent burping (especially right before or after you eat)

Well . . . this is most likely caused by the bacterium called "H. pylori"

More than half the people in the "world" has this bacterial infection in their stomach and most don't even know it.

Most people don't realize they have this problem because they never really get sick from it. It just festers causing the list above.

Now . . . most of us contract this bacterium in our childhood years . . . with it festering until age is upon us and our immune system is lacking its defense . . . allowing this infestation to multiply and start causing health issues.

This bacteria attacks the wall lining of the stomach and the part of the small intestine that's connect to the stomach which causes "inflammation" and the list above.

So what does H. pylori have to do with weight gain???

Well . . . this bacteria can change the levels of the hormone "Ghrelin" which is the hormone that is produced in the stomach that controls satiety. Meaning . . . like "lectins" it messes with the appetite switch of this hormone and leaves it on . . . so you think you're hungry all the time even when the body doesn't need food.

And if that wasn't bad enough . . . this bacteria "if" left untreated . . . after many years of growth . . . can cause sores called ulcers in the lining of the stomach and/or the upper part of the small intestine, cause pancreatitis and if severe enough . . . can cause stomach cancer. It can also cause esophagus cancers because it allows acid from the stomach to continually be released into the esophagus damaging the tissue.

I know many of you have been tested for this bacterium in your life time. And it may have come back "negative", which then you've most likely been treated for something else. Therefore, being told that this was not a problem.

BUT . . . this is a problem . . . unless you test high enough . . . meaning you have thousands of these bacterium in the stomach . . . you will test "negative". This is due to conventional medicine setting the cut off number for how many bacterium they feel is okay to have in the stomach . . . too high. They do this because half the population of the world has this overgrowth causing heartburn, acid reflux and ulcers . . . and if they lower the cut off number and treated us . . . they would lose the revenue from all the antacids and medications that they prescribe to us.

BUT . . . I'm just saying . . . if you eradicate the H. pylori from the stomach . . . you will no longer have heartburn, belching, acid reflux, pancreas issues, therefore, a correct "insulin" level or ulcers.

And with this . . . the stomach can produce the correct amount of the hormone "Ghrelin" therefore, you won't be hungry all the time and you will be able to lose weight.

Just another reason we need to increase our "good" bacteria to help eradicate them.

Tomorrow we'll talk about another malfunctioning switch in the body.

As always, feel free to contact me here
