Sugar Detox

So yesterday we spoke about a way to help stop "sugar "craving.

Well . . . today we continue this conversation with a 3 day cleanse from sugar.

As I said yesterday . . . consuming "healthy fats" will help to stop sugar cravings . . .

Well . . . that's basically how you do a 3 day cleanse . . . consuming "healthy fats" and "proteins". All while eliminating the "bad" bacteria's food source.

As I stated a few Health tip back about candy . . . in 2 - 4 days of eating poorly a bacterial overgrowth can occur . . .

Well . . . in another 2 - 4 days the body can also "reverse" that bacterial overgrowth.

This kind of food plan will starve the "bad" bacteria and kill it. This will help to get your gut bacteria ratio of "good" to "bad" back in order.

So let's break it down if you're still confused.

These are the elements that the human body needs for elimination and optimal health.

"Protein Food Group" - are all foods made from meat, poultry, seafood, beans and peas, eggs, nuts and seeds.

Now . . . "carbohydrates" are the ones that most confuse people because they can be made up of fiber, starch and/or sugar.

"Simple Carbohydrate Food Group" - are foods that can be broken down quickly by the body to be used as energy. And they are found naturally in foods such as fruits, vegetables, milk and milk products.

"Complex Carbohydrate Food Group" - are made up of sugar molecules that are strung together in long, complex chains. And they are found in foods such as peas, beans (yes, they are also a protein), whole grains and vegetables.

And both "simple" and "complex" carbs are turned into glucose (blood sugar) in the body and are used as energy.

"Healthy Fat Group" - are monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats and are known as the "good fats" because they are good for the heart, cholesterol and overall health. These are your "Omega 3s" such as fatty fish, walnuts, ground flax seeds, flaxseed oil, olive oil and coconut oil.

Still confused???

Okay . . . so I'll give you my personal 3 day sugar cleanse to give you an example of how to help eliminate the sugar in the body and help control the "bad" bacteria that's running amuck.

BREAKFAST - I'd have an egg with avocado and greens, or an egg with zucchini and onions, or an eggs with Brussels sprouts hash with tomatoes

(I'd cook my meal in organic "unrefined" expeller pressed or cold pressed coconut oil)

LUNCH - I'd have chicken breast with a green salad, tomatoes and a vinaigrette dressing, or cauliflower rice with pesto over spinach, tomatoes and avocados, or salmon with a green leafy salad with asparagus and bean sprouts

(I'd cook my meal in organic extra virgin olive oil)

DINNER - I'd have chicken with tri-color quinoa with pesto over spinach, tomatoes and avocado, or salmon with wild rice and zucchini, or salmon with a baked sweet potato and green beans

(I'd cook my meal in organic extra virgin olive oil)

And my pesto is made of parmesan, pine nuts, garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil

And my go-to spices . . . garlic, onion, turmeric, ginger and pepper.

Now, before every meal, as I spoke of in a previous Health tip about the benefits of broccoli, I'd have a few florets of fresh broccoli with this program, I'd lightly steam it (no more than 6 minutes and the less amount of time the better). I'd also have a few florets before bed. Please go back to that Health tip for the benefits.

And in between meals I'd have almond, walnuts, macadamias, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, or several hot cups of chicken or beef bone broth.

And to drink . . . lots and lots of water to help flush the body out.

So as you can see, I was never hungry looking for food and because I was eating the "right" foods . . . I wasn't feeding the monster deep within me that craved for sugar.

This is just an example of what I have done. On "your" journey . . . just make sure you choose your food wisely.

Tomorrow we'll continue and talk about a way to eliminate the toxins from the body that killing this "bad" bacteria has just accumulated. And how to detox from the "ethanol" of alcoholic beverages.

As always, feel free to contact me here
