Okay . . . so yesterday we discovered how the "brain" and its "reward center" works . . .
And that we "NEED" . . . an adequate level of the brain chemical called "dopamine" for optimal learning . . . development . . . and behavior . . .
But . . . if this level of "dopamine" is "deficient . . .
Then anything from "addictions" . . . to "ADHD" . . . to "Parkinson's disease" can occur.
Now . . . Dr. John Ratey, a professor of psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School in Boston says . . . All "ADHD" really is . . . is a LOW LEVEL OF THE NEUROTRANSMITTER CALLED "DOPAMINE". . . which is a chemical released by nerve cells into the brain.
And due to this "lack" of "dopamine" . . . people with ADHD become "chemically wired" . . . to seek more!
You see . . . "dopamine" is the element that helps "control" the brain's reward and pleasure center.
Now . . . as I stated yesterday . . . "ADHD" children with low blood levels of "DHA" have a type of disorderly brain activity linked to ADHD.
So what does "DHA" do for "dopamine:???
Well . . . simply put . . . "DHA" . . . "increases" the level of "dopamine" in the brain . . . therefore . . . correcting the "reward center" and correcting behavior . . . addictions . . . and neurological disorders.
And where do we find "DHA"???
In "OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS"
So final question for this week . . . why do we feel so much better after taking "Omega-3 fats"???
Well . . . "Omega-3s" travel easily through brain cell membrane and interacts with mood-related molecules inside the brain.
They also have "anti-inflammatory" properties and actions to the body . . . which can help to relieve "depression".
So we not only feel better . . . we also have more "control" over our behavior.
So in a nutshell . . .
Adding "Omega-3 fatty acids" . . . back into the diet and body
Will "add" the "DHA" that's in the "Omega-3 fats" . . . back into the brain
Which "increases" the level of the brain chemical called "dopamine"
And with this . . . the brain and its "reward center" . . . can "now" function properly.
Hence . . . a "decrease" in . . . "addictions" . . . neurological disorders . . . and "ADHD"
Okay . . . so it's that time of the year again . . . and I'll be taking the rest of the summer off from blogging . . . but I'll be back sometime in Sept. Date to come.
It's time for me to finish some more project . . . spend time with family . . . and rest my body, mind and spirit.
