The "Nose's" connection to the "Brain" - continued

So yesterday we spoke about the article I had read . . . and the "possible" connection between the "nose" and "dementia" or "Alzheimer's"

Well today . . . I've still got my "out of the box . . . de-bunking hat" on . . . so let's continue to figure this study out

Okay . . . now the research published in this Nature Scientific report stated . . . that by "damaging" the "nasal cavity" in "mice" . . . "bacteria" can enter the "brain" through the "olfactory nerve".

And that once the "brain" contains this "bacteria . . . it can "stimulate" the deposition of "amyloid beta protein" . . . which can potentially lead to the development of "dementia" and "Alzheimer's".

So the question still remains . . . is this what happens in "humans" also???

Well . . . as we already know . . . there are 2 facets to understanding "dementia" and "Alzheimer's" in humans.

First . . . is a "plaque buildup" . . . and second . . . is a "bacterial" invasion.

Now . . . "plaque" forms in the "brain" when "proteins" called "beta-amyloid" . . . clump together.

And this "beta-amyloid" (protein) comes from a larger "protein" found in the fatty membrane that surrounds our nerve cells

And this "beta-amyloid" is chemically "sticky" and gradually builds up to form "plaques".

Okay . . . got that so far???
