The real reason we can't "sleep"!

Yesterday we spoke about what happens to the body when we can't sleep . . .
So today . . . let's figure out how to fix it.
Okay . . . as I mentioned yesterday . . . when the body's ratio of "good" and "bad" bacteria are out of whack . . . the body becomes compromised and "too acidic".
You see . . . when our intestines are working too hard to break down the acids in the body . . . the brain is "unable" to fall asleep. And even if it does manage to accomplish that mission . . . the sleep quality is very poor.
So adding things like melatonin to the body, which are supposed to signal the brain that it's time to sleep . . . many times doesn't work because the brain is still unable to send the correct signals due to this "acidity".
Okay . . . so now you ask . . . what exactly is this acidity???
Well . . . as I've said many times before . . . when the body becomes overwhelmed with environmental toxins, stress, poor eating habits, negative social behavior and an over abundance of medications such as antibiotics, pain relievers, antacids, anti-inflammatories and antidepressants . . .
We lose our "good" bacteria and our body's immune defence system. Now add to that, this Western diet we love so much that's overrun with Omega 6s . . . we now find ourselves in a state "acidity".
And as a result . . . for one . . . we don't sleep well.
So how do we fix it???
Well first . . . we need to fill the body with spore forming probiotics. We must replenish the body's "good" bacteria to obtain optimal health and quality sleep.
Next . . . we need to start eating more oxygen rich "alkalizing" foods such as green veggies.
You see . . . foods considered alkaline have a pH level higher than 7 (we spoken of this in several previous Health tips). They help balance the acids already present in the body. Alkalizing foods should be a major part of your diet because they keep the digestive system healthy as well as contribute to better sleep.
So simply said . . . it's about going back to basics and correcting the body's "Internal Dialogue". An alkaline diet basically reinforces good, old-fashioned healthy eating and consuming more vegetables and fruit, drinking lots of water and cutting back on sugar, alcohol, meat and processed foods would accomplish that mission.
But . . . for a possible quick fix . . . try eating an alkalizing food before bed.
Some of the best would be . . . fruits, vegetables, nuts, herbs, herbal teas, seeds, green juice, melons, or lemons.
Okay . . . sounds simple enough . . . right?
But . . . if you're looking for a quick fix . . . here are 2 of my "secret" favorite go-to's before bed.
First . . . is eating a few florets of slightly steam broccoli (a 2 minute steam) before bed . . . . broccoli is very alkalizing and it also has the ability to heal the stomach lining which in turn will help to control the "cortisol" hormone we spoke of yesterday . . .
Or . . . drinking a cup of warm water with a tablespoon of ACV w/mother and a dash of ginger and a dash of turmeric.
You see . . . the ACV helps the body to become more alkaline, Even though apple cider vinegar (with mother) is acidic in itself . . . ACV promotes an alkaline environment inside the body. This is due to how ACV is broken down and digested. And the ginger aids in healing the stomach and "cortisol" hormone and the turmeric is an excellent anti-inflammatory.
And after I brush my teeth for the night . . . I take a spore forming probiotic and cuddle on down for a good night sleep.
So try something alkalizing tonight and get your sleep on.
And don't forget to powerhouse the body with spore forming probiotics whether you have sleep problems or not . . . because as I tell you everyday . . . this is the root cause to any illness, weight issue or disease.
