What in the "World"?

Updated: Nov 8, 2022

Okay . . . so I'll be the first to admit . . . I'm a work in progress and I still have a lot to learn in life

But . . . in all my years of research . . . I've NEVER heard about this . . .

So of course . . . I had to put my "out of the box" thinking cap on and try to figure this one out.

Okay . . . so the other day I was reading this article . . .

And all I could say was . . .

"WHAT"????????

It said . . . NEW FINDINGS . . . "PICKING" YOUR NOSE HAS BEEN LINKED TO "ALZHEIMER'S"

So I guess today's question is this . . . is this statement . . . "true" or "false"???

Now . . . I will have to say . . . this new research was done "only" on "mice".

So my next thought was . . . I DIDN'T KNOW MICE PICKED THEIR NOSES . . .

How can this be????

Well . . . in reading the article . . . it stated that they implanted the same kind of "bacteria" that "humans" get in their "nose" . . . into the noses of "mice" to see what would happen.

Well . . . apparently within 72 hours . . . that bacteria was able to "infect" the "olfactory" and "trigeminal nerves" in the brain.

Which eventually formed "deposits" of "amyloid beta protein" in the brain . . .

And this is also seen in "Alzheimer's disease".

Okay . . . so with that being said . . . what does that have to do with us "picking our nose"???

Well . . . if we "damage" the inside lining of the nose through . . . "picking" or "plucking our hairs out" . . . this can "increase" the amount of "bacteria" that can go up into the brain.

Simple as that . . .

So is this new research "true" or "false"???

Well . . . I would tend to say "MAYBE" it's kind of . . . "true"

So let's continue on to see what the facts are
