"Zinc"

Today we'll talk about the 4th and finally element that helps maintain a healthy body and toxic elimination process. And that would be "Zinc"

Now, I know many of you are taking "zinc" supplement for all the right reasons such as . . . preventing colds and/or flu.

But . . . "zinc" is way more important than just that.

Zinc is yet another "essential trace" mineral to optimal health. Since the human body doesn't store excess zinc, it must be consumed regularly as part of a balanced diet.

Now . . . "zinc" is found in cells throughout the body. And as we know, it helps the immune system fight off invading bacteria and viruses.

But . . . did you know that the body also needs "zinc" to make "protein" and "DNA" which is the genetic material in all cells. Zinc is needed for wound healing, blood clotting, "thyroid" function, "metabolism" function and sense of taste and smell?

Okay . . . so what is the best way to get more zinc into the body?

Well . . . that would be . . . consuming red meat, poultry, fish and oysters, which contains more zinc per serving than any other food. Other good food sources include beans, nuts, crab, lobster and whole grains.

So why are all 4 of these elements so important to our optimal health?

And why is it so important that we consume all 4 regularly?

Well . . . Copper, Zinc and Selenium are involved in the destruction of free radicals which are "unstable" molecules that can damage the cells in the body.

And remember . . . free radicals damage the growth, development and survival of cells. Therefore . . . allowing illness, weight issues and disease to occur.

Okay . . . so now we know that the combination of these 3 elements is what helps to destroy unstable molecules in the body that can cause disease and illness.

Which is all fine and dandy . . . but most importantly is being able to eliminate these toxic free radicals from the body.

And that's where "molybdenum" comes into play. As we now know . . . Molybdenum is a converter and an eliminator of toxins.

Okay . . . so after learning about the important vitamins and minerals we need for optimal health and weight control . . . we're now ready to start our next series about "getting in shape".
