"ANTACIDS" are they good for us - continued

So, yesterday we discovered "what" antacids are . . . and how many of us partake of this "temporary" relief.

So, today . . . we're going to talk about the proper function of our stomach . . . and its "stomach acid".

This way . . . you'll better understand "WHY" antacids are slowly killing us . . .

Okay . . . so, as we know . . . the function of the "stomach" is to . . .

Temporarily store food . . .

Mechanically break it down through churning

and Chemically digest it with "acidic gastric juices and enzymes"

And with this . . . the muscular walls of the stomach . . . churn food into a "semi- liquid mixture called . . . "CHYME".

Now . . . while "chyme" is being made . . . "digestive enzymes" like . . . "pepsin" break down the "proteins" in that food . . .

And "hydrochloric acid" (our stomach acid) . . . helps to "kill" bacteria and activate the digestive "enzymes".

After this process . . . the stomach "slowly" releases this "chyme" into the "small intestine" for further digestion.

Got that so far???

Great!!!

Okay . . . So, when this "hydrochloric acid" is released in the stomach to do its job . . .

Some of the "glands" in the stomach wall . . . produce a "THICK" protective layer of "mucus" that prevents the "acid" from attaching to the stomach wall lining and BURNING it.

This is the body's and stomach's "fail-save" system to prevent stomach ulcers, acid reflux, bloating and malnutrition.

So, in essence . . . our "stomach acid" . . . is SUPPOSED to be a "chemical" barrier against "INFECTIONS"!!!

Now . . . this is the part that Conventional medicine . . . and all its "ANTACIDS" . . . doesn't understand . . . or they wouldn't be prescribing and selling them to us . . . "IF" they were concerned about our health!!!

Okay . . . so, we've spoken many times before about the body's pH balance . . . meaning "potential hydrogen" balance.

And a quick review is this . . .

pH balance refers to the "acidity" or "alkalinity" of body fluids . . . measured on a scale from 0 (highly acidic) . . . to . . . 14 (highly alkaline)

And "maintaining" a proper pH balance . . . is crucial for various bodily functions like . . .

Enzyme activity

Cell function

Immune system function

Bone health

and Respiratory function

Now . . . "normal" pH levels for the body and optimal health needs to be at a range of . . .

Slightly "alkaline" between 7.35 and 7.45

Remember above the pH scale of 0 - 14 . . . with neutral being "7"

Now . . . our "blood pH" and our "saliva pH" . . . needs to be around 7.4 on this scale . . .

But . . . what about our "stomach acids"???

Well . . . that's a whole different ball of wax people . . .

You see . . . this "acid" needs to be between 1.5 to 3.5 to do its job correctly.

And tomorrow . . . we'll continue with "acids" journey.
