How do we become "Healthier" in this New Year?

Well . . . as I stated last week . . . the success of a "New Year's Resolution" . . . really "ISN'T" about the "GOAL" . . . but rather . . . the "GAME PLAN" to get there!
And with this new year . . . "dragging" its baggage from "last" year . . .
The question for today is this . . . HOW DO WE "CHANGE" OUR DIRECTION???
Well . . . the #1 "New Year's Resolution" and "wish" for most of us is . . . a "healthier" body and mind.
And what "goals" you set . . . what "game plan" you have . . . and what "action" you take . . . will either "make" or "break" your journey to a "healthier YOU"!
Okay . . . so first . . . let's "define" our "goals" . . .
You see . . . "wellness" in commonly viewed as having 7 dimensions . . .
Mental
Physical
Social
Financial
Spiritual
Environmental
And vocational
And setting a REALISTIC "game plan" to accomplish that goal . . . is the "KEY" to success!
Now . . . the "KEY" element to a healthier body is this . . .
A "balanced" life . . . which consists of . . .
Appropriate eating habits . . . eating a well-balanced, anti-inflammatory diet
Sufficient rest . . . sleeping at least 8 hour per night
And regular exercise . . . being physically active for 30 minutes most days of the week
And with that . . . it's important to maintain a "healthy triangle" . . . which is . . .
Physical health - our body's ability to function normally
Mental health - our ability to manage thoughts, emotions and behavior
Social health - our relationships and how we communicate with those around us
Okay . . . so we all know about the "standard" weight loss, healthy body and mind tips for this time of year . . . such as . . .
Base your meals on higher fiber foods
Eat lots of fruits and vegetables
Eat more wild caught fish
Cut down on saturated fats
Eliminate sugar foods
Consume less salt and salty foods
Drink more water
Don't skip meals, especially breakfast (unless you're doing an intermittent fasting)
And get active
But . . . did you know that simple things like . . .
Regular exercise, meditation and breathing techniques
Going to bed "earlier"
Checking your "posture"
And doing a crossword puzzle . . .
Can also help us to focus on our "goals"???
