Is there an "Aftermath" when taking "PAIN RELIEVERS"?

So, we now know . . . that taking "pain relievers" of ANY kind . . . can relieve our pain and discomfort . . .
BUT . . . they can ALSO cause . . .
Gastrointestinal problems
Liver damage
Kidney damage
Heart problems
Stomach issues
And addiction . . . whether they be an OTC or prescription drug
A good example would be . . . taking a "baby aspirin" every day . . .
Now . . . the reason "why" we're prescribed this regiment . . . is to help thin our blood and lower "blood clotting" risks . . .
And unfortunately . . . the "older" that we get . . . more and more people are being told to take a "baby aspirin" every day . . . as a "preventative" measure for "blood clotting and STROKE"!!!!
So, I "do" get that . . . and maybe rightly so . . .
But . . . did you know . . . that 1 little "aspirin" . . . taken EVERY DAY . . .
Can "damage" the "lining of our stomach" . . .
Which can "increase" the risk of complications from a bacterial INFECTION called . . . H. pylori!!!
It can ALSO cause a "fungal" overgrowth of . . . Candidiasis . . . in the stomach!!!
And that little "aspirin" taken every day . . . can cause "peptic ulcers" . . . and "gastrointestinal bleeding" . . .
And . . . "IF" . . . and "WHEN" . . . this happens . . .
This damage to the "stomach lining" . . . allows the bacteria H. pylori . . . and/or . . . the "fungi" called Candidiasis . . . to further damage our "stomach lining" . . . weakening our "stomach defenses".
Which NOW causes . . . "chronic inflammation" . . . and makes the stomach more vulnerable to injury from "STOMACH ACID"!!!
And yes . . . even "ACID REFLUX"!!!
You see . . . that little "aspirin" every day . . . just like ALL THE OTHER NSAIDs we take . . .
REDUCES protective "prostaglandins" (remember we spoke about that the other day)
And these "prostaglandins" . . . are ESSENTIAL for maintaining the integrity of the "stomach's lining" . . . by promoting the secretion of mucus and bicarbonate.
So, how do we "fix" this issue???
Well . . . tomorrow, we'll explore the possibilities . . .
