Good morning my friend . . . I hope you all made it through the election turmoil yesterday.
So, we've spoken "a lot" over the "years" about the "bad" bacteria that can wreak havoc to our body and overall health.
And over the summer . . . we spoke about the "fungi" called . . . "Candidiasis" . . . that can also be "detrimental" . . . and work against us.
So, this week . . . I thought it only fitting to continue with information about "invaders" to our body and mind with . . . "parasites".
First question . . . what is a "PARASITE"???
Well . . . Wikipedia states . . .
Human parasites include various "protozoa" and "worms" . . . that are divided into 2 categories . . .
Endoparasites . . . which cause infections "inside" the body . . . and . . .
Ectoparasites . . . which cause infections superficially within the "skin".
And how long can these "parasites" live in the human body you ask???
Well . . . studies show . . . up to about . . . "17 years" . . .
And the "most" common "parasites" found in the human body are . . .
"Pinworms" . . .
According to the U.S. Pharmacist Association . . . an estimated 42 million people in the United States have "pinworms" . . .
With "most" cases being in "school-aged" and young children in "daycare" . . . their family members . . . and/or caregivers.
And guess what???
"Humans" . . . are the "ONLY" species that can "transfer" this "parasite".
So, what does that mean???
Well . . . our household pets like dogs and cats . . . "cannot" . . . become "infected" with "human pinworms"!!!
And these "pinworm" eggs . . . can "survive" in the indoor environment for 2 to 3 weeks.
Now . . . "pinworms" are also known as "threadworms" . . . and are tiny white or light gray worms . . . about 1/2 inch long . . . that cause the common infection called . . . "Enterobiasis".
And during "our" sleep . . . "female" pinworms "LEAVE" our "intestinal tract" . . . and "LAY" their eggs in a "jelly-like" substance on the "skin" around the "ANUS" . . . which can cause the "host" (US) . . . to have an "itchy" butt at night.
So, tomorrow . . . lets' continue with the "second" most common human "parasite" .
Then, we'll continue on . . . to talk about how to naturally remove them from the body.
