So, this week we've been talking about the hormones called "Insulin" and "Glucagon" . . .
And how they affect our "weight loss" and "weight management" issues . . .
But . . . what about the hormone called "Amylin"???
Have you ever heard of this one before???
Well . . . this little hormone is actually one of the most important hormones for our "weight loss" journey . . .
So, why doesn't the "weight loss industry" talk about it???
Could it be . . . they don't want us to really "loss" weight???
Well . . . let's figure it out . . . to better understand . . .
"Amylin" is a hormone ALSO produced by the pancreas . . .
And it "decreases" food intake!!!
What???
You see . . . this little hormone is a "co-secreted" hormone with "Insulin" produced by our pancreatic beta cells . . . AFTER A MEAL!!!
And it's crucial for "blood sugar regulation" . . . by slowing stomach emptying . . . and promoting . . . fullness to PREVENT . . . GLUCOSE (sugar) SPIKES!!!
It helps to manage "appetite" . . . delay nutrient absorption . . . and support overall metabolic health.
So, we can clearly see just how important this hormone is to our "weight management".
Over the long term . . . effective "Amylin" action . . . leads to "reduced" calorie intake . . .
And this little hormone . . . acts like a "SWITCH" . . .
That's right . . . you'll know when it's working or not . . .
Because . . . If you're still "hungry" after a meal . . . that "switch" is OFF and "Amylin" is not working properly . . .
And when you're NOT "hungry" after a meal . . . you'll know that hormone is working properly!!!
So, how do we correct this hormone you ask???
Well . . . tomorrow let's talk about that . . .
