Now . . . as we know . . . the hormone called "Cortisol" . . . is in charge of our "fight - flight- freeze" response to LIFE!!!
So, how does "Marijuana" and its THC . . . affect this very important hormone???
Well . . . in the "immediate" consumption of THC . . . it stimulates the hormone called . . . Cortisol . . . causing a "temporary", dose-dependent . . . RISE . . . in this hormone . . .
Which leads to . . . "increased" ANXIETY . . . in someone that is a NON-frequent user . . .
But . . . "frequent, long-term" users . . . this "rise" in this hormone . . . often results in a "blunted" . . . Cortisol response . . .
Meaning . . . the body becomes LESS reactive to the body's . . . "fight - flight - freeze" response to LIFE . . .
Now . . . when we're a "frequent, long-term" users . . . this "blunted" result to our Cortisol hormone . . . can cause "Adrenal insufficiency" . . .
Which can MIMIC . . . "Addison's disease" . . .
Causing profound fatigue, muscle weakness, unintentional weight loss, low blood pressure, salt cravings, and skin darkening . . .
It can also make everyday tasks feel "overwhelming" or difficult . . . causing mood changes like depression . . . and issues with sleep and focusing like . . . brain fog!!!
So, tomorrow . . . let's continue with some other hormones "Marijuana" can disrupt . . .
