Good morning my friends . . .
So, this weeks question . . . is this . . .
What are the "BIGGEST" offenders and obstacles . . . to our optimal health in today's world???
Well . . . ever since the "pandemic" . . . we've had an "IMMUNITY GAP" . . . goin on . . .
Meaning . . . we're at an increased vulnerability to infections caused by a lack of exposure to common pathogens . . . due to that social distancing and lockdown.
NOW . . . add to that . . .
The "Forever Chemicals" . . . that are found in packaged food . . . that suppress our immune functions
And "Food Additives" . . . like . . . Polysorbate 80 (P80) that damage the gut lining, promoting inflammation and immune dysfunction . . .
Well, today . . . let's talk about a few "manufactured" synthetics . . . that are even WORSE for us than SUGAR!!!
And their names are . . .
Maltodextrin
Modified Food Starch
Modified Corn Starch
So, WHY does the FDA . . . APPROVED them ???
Well . . . let's break it down to better understand . . .
First up . . . "Maltodextrin" . . .
The FDA . . . actually classifies it as a Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) compound . . .
Why???
Well . . . it's a synthetic carbohydrate "derived" from the "natural starches" of . . .
Corn (GMO)
Potatoes (GMO)
Rice
Wheat
And therefore . . . they THINK . . . it's okay to call it "natural" . . .
But . . . the REAL reason it's "approved" . . . is due to it being VERY "inexpensive" . . .
And it's used for . .
Filler
Stabilizer
Thickener
And preservative in PROCESSED FOODS!!!
It's even extensively used in . . . INFANT FORMULA!!!
And it's not just in "food" . . .
"Maltodextrin" is used in . . .
"Processed foods" . . . to add volume and consistency in salad dressings, sauces, canned soups and dips . . . just to mention a few
"Baked goods" . . . to add texture, body and stability to bread, cakes, chips and pastries
"Dairy products" . . . to thicken and stabilize ice cream, frozen desserts, yogurt and flavored milks
"Instant foods" . . . like puddings and sauces . . . again for volume
"Sweetener/flavor modifier" . . . it's actually used to RECUDE excessive sweetness in processed foods and to replace fat
"Baby formula" . . . it's used as an easily digestible carbohydrate for energy (GMO corn people), a thickener to improve consistency, solubility and an extender for shelf life and a cost-effective alternative
"Sport nutrition and supplements" . . . like sports drinks, energy gels and protein powders
"Pharmaceuticals" . . . used as a binder in pills, tablets and capsules
"Cosmetics" . . . used as a carrier/filler in powders
And "Personal care" . . . used in lotions and personal care products for texture
So, how is this "GOOD" for US . . . or our BABIES???
