So, yesterday . . . we discovered "what" the liver does for our body and health.
Well, today . . . let's continue . . . and find out "HOW MANY" of us REALLY have a HIDDEN "liver" issue!!!
Now . . . the American Liver Foundation states . . .
And estimated 4.5 million adults in the U.S. have been diagnosed with liver disease.
But . . . they go on to say . . . the actual number is likely MUCH higher, as millions more may have undiagnosed conditions like . . . non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
With recent studies suggesting the prevalence is as high as 30% to 42% more of our population.
And the "overall impact" they estimate . . .
Well . . . they're talking about as many as 100 million people in the U.S. having "fatty liver disease" . . . and we DON'T EVEN KNOW IT!!!!
Okay . . . so that's kind of mind blowing . . . isn't it???
And what are the symptoms we need to be looking for???
Well . . . they would be . . .
Jaundice - yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes
Swollen legs - edema
Dark urine - reddish, brownish, pee
Nausea - with urge to vomit but does not
Confusion - acute mental confusion
Swelling in the abdomen - fluid accumulation in the abdominal cavity
Black stool - old blood in the stool
Pale stool - loose, pail, oily or greasy, floating and smelly
Feeling full - in the upper right part of the belly
Intense itching - this is a sign of cirrhosis
Weakness and fatigue - lack of energy one of the earliest signs
Prominent blood vessels - spiker-like blood vessels in the legs (spider veins)
Enlarged liver - your doctor can determine this
Bleeding or bruising easily -
Red palms - this comes with jaundice
Abdominal pain - in the upper right hand side, under the ribs
Loss of appetite and weight loss - sudden and unintentional
and Breast development - in men!
So . . . do you have any of these symptoms???
