Is there a "CONNECTION"?

So, today . . . let's continue with the "connect" between our "high blood pressure" . . .


And "high CHOLESTEROL" . . .


So, a few weeks ago . . . we spoke about the hormone called . . . "Cortisol" . . . and the importance of it "functioning" properly.


We also discovered that this hormone is called the "STRESS hormone" and the "BELLY FAT PRODUCER"!!!


And it's "responsible" for our ACTIONS to the body's "fight or flight" response . . .


Meaning . . . how we "act" . . . or . . . "react" . . . to "confrontation" . . . or . . . any perceived danger in today's world.


So, how does this all fit in with our "high cholesterol"???


Well . . . it all starts with . . . "insulin resistance" . . .


That's right . . .


The hormone "insulin" that the pancreas makes is a MAJOR PLAYER not ONLY to our "hypertension" . . . and "high blood pressure" . . .


But, ALSO . . . is a "major player" in our "high cholesterol" . . .


So, let's refresh . . .


We all know "insulin resistance" is a condition where the body's cells don't respond properly to that hormone . . .


Which makes it harder to get "glucose" (sugar) from the blood into the cells for energy . . .


And BOOM we now have "prediabetes" . . . or . . . "type 2 diabetes" . . .


But . . . "high" insulin levels . . . ALSO causes . . . "high cholesterol" . . .


How you ask???


Well . . . the hormone "Cortisol" . . . causes the liver to "INCREASE" its production of LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides . . .


While "reducing" our HDL (good) cholesterol . . .


Remember, we spoke about the "liver" producing 80% of the "cholesterol" we need for optimal health???


Well . . . let's break it down ever more . . .


The "liver" produces "cholesterol . . . with approximately 60-70% of "total" cholesterol being the LDL (bad) cholesterol . . .


With the rest being the liver's HDL (good) cholesterol . . .


And this "good" (HDL) is what . . . REMOVES the BAD cholesterol . . . so the "bad" can't build up "plaque" in our arteries . . .


Now . . . the problem is this . . .


High levels of "Cortisol" . . .


FORCE the liver to produce MORE LDL (bad) cholesterol . . . than the body can eliminate . . . which then accumulates on our artery walls . . .


It also . . . promotes the "release" of "fatty acids . . . resulting in "higher" triglyceride levels . . .


And if that's not bad enough . . .


High levels of "Cortisol" in the body cause excessive "inflammation" . . . which also LOWERS our HDL (good) cholesterol.


So . . . could this be the "secret" . . . and "missing" piece to our better health . . .


And controlling "high cholesterol" WITHOUT . . . DRUGS???
