Our body's Immune System "MISDIRECTED"

So, the question for today is this . . .

How exactly does our "immune system" become MISDIRECTED???

Well . . . the "immune system" was designed to "distinguish" between healthy cells called "self" . . . and foreign invaders called "non-self" in the body.

But, due to our changing environment . . . our Western diet . . . prescription and non prescription drugs . . . heavy metals . . . pollutants in our air . . . toxins in our water . . . and pesticides in our soil . . .

The body's ability . . . known as "tolerance" . . . has been BROKEN DOWN . . . leading to our immune system MISTAKENLY attacking the body's own tissues and cells.

And this MISDIRECTION . . . is at the heart of not only "allergies" . . . but, "autoimmune diseases" also.

An immune system that is "dysregulated" . . . is an immune system that is "imbalanced" in various immune cell population and signaling pathways.

And with this . . . there will be a "breakdown" of "TOLERANCE"!!!

So, what does that mean???

Well . . . the mechanisms that "normally" eliminate "self-reactive immune cells" . . . can FAIL . . .

And with this . . . it allows these cells . . . to attack the body's own tissue

Hence . . . allergies and autoimmune disease!!!!

Did you get all that???

Allergies are essentially . . . an "overreaction" of the immune system . . . to normally HARMLESS substances called allergens.

And the root cause lies in the "immune system's" MISIDENTIFICATION of these substances as . . . dangerous . . . triggering a reaction that manifest as "allergic symptoms".

So, who are the "key" players in this issue???

Well . . . the immune system contains . . . IgE antibodies . . . which act like a "radar" for specific allergens.

The "mast cells" and "basophils" of the immune system . . . are activated by the IgE antibodies . . . to release "inflammatory" mediators . . . that are responsible for the allergic symptoms we experience.

Next . . . the immune system's "T helper cells" play a crucial role in directing "B cells" of the immune system to produce more IgE antibodies and orchestrate the overall allergic immune response.

But . . . why does the immune system and all its working parts . . . malfunction in the first place???

Well . . . believe it or not . . . allergies and autoimmune diseases are BOTH . . . the cause of . . .

POOR GUT HEALTH!!!
