So, how's your "healthy" 2026 going so far?

Good morning my friends . . .

How was your weekend???

So, we just spent last week talking about how drinking "coffee" in the morning . . . or . . . having that sweet little chocolate "caffeine" "fix" in the am . . .

NOT ONLY . . . messes up our Cortisol hormone . . .

It also "disrupts" our . . . "Leptin" and "Ghrelin" hormone for the rest of the day . . .

So, how's all that working for ya???

Well . . . today, lets' break it down to better understand . . .

Just what part the "Leptin" hormone plays in . . . WEIGHT LOSS . . . and . . . our BETTER HEALTH!!!

Now . . . the "leptin" hormone . . . is primarily produced by "white adipose tissue" . . . which is our FAT CELLS . . .

And this hormone . . . acts as a "key" regulator of "energy balance" . . . "metabolism" . . . and "appetite" . . .

So, you can clearly see . . . just how important this hormone is to our optimal health and weight loss journey!!!

Now . . . as we know . . . "Cortisol" is known as the "STRESS" and "BELLY FAT PRODUCER" . . .

Whereas the "Leptin" hormone is known as the . . . "SATIETY" and "FASTING" hormone . . . which signals the brain to "reduce" hunger . . . increase energy . . . and . . . manage FAT STORAGE!!!

Meaning . . . when FAT STORAGE is HIGH . . . "more" Leptin is "released" . . . signaling the brain to "suppress" the appetite.

And in "reverse" . . . if we become TOO thin and "low" in body fat storage . . .

This will "trigger" the hunger hormone "Ghrelin" . . . to "increase" . . . for survival!!!

Okay . . . so what is "Leptin Resistance"???

Well . . . that occurs commonly in people that are "obese" . . .

And this is where . . . the brain "does not" receive the signal to STOP EATING!!!

Which leads us to . . . persistent food craving . . . constant hunger . . . difficulty losing weight . . . and therefore . . . obesity!

Now . . . our "Leptin" hormone is also responsible for . . . bone health (promoting density) . . . immune system modulation . . . and supporting reproductive function . . .

So, now you ask . . . what are some of the "symptoms" of LOW Leptin???

Well . . . they would be . . .

Severe, constant hunger (hyperphagia) . . . which leads to rapid weight gain and early-onset obesity

Low energy levels and lethargy

And Low sex hormone levels (hypogonadotropic hypogonadism) . . . often resulting in delayed or absent puberty and infertility

So, tomorrow, let's continue with what can "trigger" the release of the hormone called "Leptin"???
