The theory of "US" vs "THEM" . . .

So, we've been talking about what's happening in our world this week.

And the that . . . "symbolization" . . . is the use of signs, names or other markers to "categorize" groups of people . . .

And this process . . . reinforces "dehumanization"!!!

Now add . . . "hatred" . . . into this process . . . and it creates and solidifies . . . a dangerous . . .

"US" vs "THEM" mentality!!!!

This "dehumanization" . . . now denies ones "identity" . . . and "HUMANITY"!!!

And "dehumanizing" language towards another person . . . serves to JUSTIFY

MISTREATMENT . . .OPPRESSION . . . and VIOLENCE of that person.

You see . . . "dehumanization" . . . is a form of "moral disengagement" . . . that allows people to "justify" . . . and "accept" behaviors they would otherwise find "unethical".

So . . . to put is simply . . .

"Symbolization" . . . is the tool that can enable an reinforce . . . "dehumanization"!!!

So, the questions we need to ask are this . . .

Is this the "path" we want to take???

Is this the "new" normal for our culture???

Is this the "JUSTIFICATION" for the VIOLENCE we see in today's world???

And . . . HOW DO WE CHANGE IT???
