We're Being "MISLED" . . . YET AGAIN!

Good morning my friends . . .

Well . . . I hate to say it . . . but . . . we're being "MISLEAD" . . . once AGAIN!!!

So . . . did you know . . .

When you go to the doctor . . . and they take your "blood pressure" . . .

They say the optimum number to shoot for is . . .

120/80 . . .

Now . . . what does all that really mean???

Well . . . the U. S. National Library of Medicine states . . .

The "top" number is . . . "systolic" blood pressure . . .

This measures the pressure your blood is "pushing" against the "artery walls" when the heart beats . . .

And the "bottom" number is . . . "diastolic" blood pressure . . .

Which measures "between" heartbeats when the heart is filling with blood . . .

And with this . . . our blood pressure "changes" throughout the day based on our activities.

Now . . . the American Heart Association states . . .

NORMAL is . . . LESS than 120/80

ELEVATED being . . . 120 -129/80

STAGE 1 HYPERTENSION . . . 130 - 139/80 - 89

STAGE 2 HYPERTENSION . . . 140 or OVER/90 or OVER

And maybe rightly so . . .

BUT . . . DOES this apply to EVERYONE???

Do we live in a "cookie cutter" world???

Now . . . as I've said many times before . . . even though the "mechanics" of the human body are the same for all of us . . .

Different times in our life . . . our body "regulates" differently . . .

And did you know . . . that the "original" rule of thumb for determining "blood pressure" was based on AGE . . .

Only modern medicine (the WHO and the AHA) has put us ALL in a "cookie cutter" world!

You see . . . our ACTUAL . . . "normal" blood pressure is measured like this . . .

Newborns (0-1 month) . . . 60/20 to 90/60

Infants (1-12 months) . . . 87/53 to 105/66

Children ( 1-5 years) . . . 95/56 to 110/70

Adolescents (14-18 years) . . . 112/66 to 128/80

Adults (19-39 years) . . . 110/68 to 119/70

Adults (40 - 59 years) . . . 122/74 to 124/77

Seniors (60+ years) . . . 133/70 to 145/90

But . . . the medical profession . . . puts ALL ADULTS . . . in a "cookie cutter" number of 120/80!!!!
