What are the "MECHANICS" of our "Nervous System"?

Okay, my friends . . .

So, today . . . let's talk about the "mechanics" of the "nervous system" . . .

And what we need to look for as SIGNS . . . that there may be an issue!

Now . . . the "mechanics" of this system involve . . .

Sensory input

Integration

and Motor output

Which "all" work . . . and are coordinated by a "communication" network of "nerve cell" called . . . NEURONS!!!

And "neurons" transmit "electrochemical signals" across connections called . . . "synapses".

This in turn . . . sends information from the senses to the brain and spinal cord . . .

And is then processed by the body's muscles, glands and organs

So, now . . . what are the "signs" we'd be looking for "IF" . . . this system isn't working correctly??

Well . . . we would look for . . .

Sensory changes - sudden numbness, tingling or weakness - especially on one side of the body

Difficulty with movement - coordination, balance, fine motor control and paralysis

Vision or hearing problems - sudden vision loss, double vision or hearing loss

Speech and swallowing difficulties - slurred speech, trouble understanding others, difficulty swallowing and/or choking

Severe headache - sudden and severe

Dizziness or vertigo - persistent feelings of dizziness or unsteadiness

Confusion or altered consciousness - sudden change in alertness or behavior

Memory problems - difficulty with memory or concentration

Mood changes - sudden mood swings, depression, excessive or inappropriate laughter or crying, anxiety or increased anger and impulsivity

Attention difficulties - trouble paying attention or maintaining focus

Delusions - a break from reality

Sleep problems - difficulty falling or staying asleep

These my friends . . . are "signs" that your "internal dialogue" (MECHANICS) are talking to you . . .
