What is "Fight or Flight" in today's world?

So, what is the "involuntary" part of our Cortisol hormone . . . and how does it affect our actions and "anger issues"???
Well . . . on a normal day . . . with "normal" levels of Cortisol . . . "after" the morning depletion of this hormone . . . at about 9ish . . .
Stress . . . and/or . . . a dangerous situation . . . activates this hormone AGAIN . . . for a "fight" . . . "flight" . . . or "freeze" response to that situation.
But, as soon as the "situation" is over . . . or Cortisol . . . goes back to normal . . . waiting for the next stressful situation in the day.
Or . . . if there is none . . . waiting for the next early morning "rise" for its "voluntary" job a 3:00 am.
So, it's our surroundings and environment that causes this "involuntary" response.
And this is the body's way of helping to protect itself from possible harm.
Now . . . "fight" is when you take action and respond back to that situation . . .
"Flight" is when you run from the confrontation . . .
And "freeze" . . . is when you don't do anything . . . you just freeze in that situation.
You know . . . the "deer" in the headlight look!!!
But . . . what "IF" . . . our Cortisol hormone is "elevated" due to not sleeping well . . .
Eating and drinking poorly the night before . . .
Or . . . drinking coffee or having another form of "caffeine" like chocolate in the morning???
Well . . . this puts the body in a state of distress and "anxiety" . . . which puts us in a "fight or flight" mode for the whole day . . .
Even "IF" . . . there's NO confrontation causing us distress . . .
And . . . when we do have a "stressful" situation occur . . . and the body is "flooded" with even more of the "stress" Cortisol . . .
Feelings of ANGER and HOSTILITY will erupt!!!
And the "normal" annoying little things in life . . . NOW . . . become . . .
ANGER
ANXIETY
FRUSTRATION
ADDICTION
And MOOD/MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES!!!
So . . . how do we LOWER our "high Cortisol" levels you ask???
Well . . . to start . . . doing things like . . .
Eating a whole-food and anti-inflammatory diet
Reducing caffeine intake in the morning or the night before . . .
Trying to get adequate sleep . . . go to bed early and NO VIDEO GAMES that stimulate the brain
Exercise regularly during the day
And most importantly . . . add a "compliant" Omega 3 fatty acid to the diet.
You see . . . Omega 3 fatty acids . . . reduce and lower overall "inflammation" and "Cortisol" levels during stressful times . . .
So, we DON'T over react to life . . . and its situations!!!!
And with this . . . it boosts "repair mechanisms" during the recovery time from the stress.
This in turn can . . . REDUCES AGGRESSION and ANGER in children and adults!!!
So, in a nutshell my friends . . .
How do we put the world right again???
Well . . . STOP the "caffeine" intake in the morning my friends . . .
And taking a "compliant" Omega 3 fatty acid . . .
Would be a GREAT START!!!
