Why is "Ghrelin" out of "CONTROL"?

So, the past few days we've been talking about how a "malfunction" in the brain can cause a "miscommunication" in our sensors for . . . hunger vs thirst!
And that some of the "symptoms" are . . .
Weight changes - increased appetite and rapid weight gain
Sleep issues - insomnia and daytime somnolence
Sexual concerns - infertility, erection issues, decreased libido and vaginal dryness
With other issues being . . .
Extreme thirst and frequent urination
Low body temperature
Slow heart rate
High blood pressure or low blood pressure
Water retention or dehydration
Poor bone health
Delayed puberty
Muscle loss and weakness
Cluster headaches
Anxiety or depression
Seizures
and Disturbances in vision and blindness
But . . . where does "GHRELIN" come into all of this???
Well . . . as we've spoken many times before . . . the hormone called "Ghrelin" . . . is our APPETITE hormone.
It's mainly produced by the stomach . . . with a small amount coming from the brain, small intestine and pancreas.
Now . . . "Ghrelin" is known as the "hunger hormone"
So, how does this work you ask???
Well . . . when the stomach is empty . . . the muscles contract . . . the body's blood sugar levels dip . . . and the stomach produces the hormone called "Ghrelin" . . . which makes us want to eat!!!
But . . . when our "limbic system" in the brain is malfunctioning . . . "Hunger" now become . . and "psychological hunger".
And what's the difference between "real" hunger and "psychological" hunger???
Well . . . "physical" hunger comes on gradually and ties to our last meal . . .
This is where our MMC (Migrating Motor Complex) comes into action . . .
Whereas . . . "psychological" hunger or . . . "emotional" hunger . . . is triggered very QUICKLY by stress, worry or fatigue.
And Ghrelin, dehydration and the limbic system are all tied together.
So, how does this all affect our "LIFE" and "PRECEPTION" OF IT???
Well . . . tomorrow, we'll talk about that.
