So, let's "connect" the dots . . .

Good morning my friends

I hope you had a wonderful weekend . . .

Spring is only a few weeks away . . .

And we NEED to get our HEALTH . . . back on track!!!

So, last week we spoke about "hormone replacement theory" for the loss of "estrogen" during menopause . . . and the connection between "bile salts" and osteoporosis . . .

So, this week . . . let's "CONNECT THE DOTS" and make some sense out of what our body is going through . . .

So, let's start at the beginning . . .

Before "menopause" . . . when we still had our "menstrual system" intact". . .

Our "ovaries" . . . make most of the "estrogen" the body needed for optimal health.

With the "adrenal glands" (which we spoke about a few weeks ago, with adrenal exhaustion) . . .

And our "brain", "skin", heart and "fat cells" also making "small" amounts of "estrogen".

Now, at this time . . . this abundance of "estrogen" . . . plays a crucial role in female sexual development and the menstrual cycle.

But . . . as we age . . . and get closer to the next stage of womanhood . . . our menstrual cycle starts to change.

And with this . . . the amount of "estrogen" the OVARIES now makes . . . starts to "slow" down

This stage is called "PERIMENOPAUSE"!!!

Now . . . this is when our "periods" start to become "IRREGULAR" . . .

With spotting, heavy or light and even sometime "missed" periods.

This process . . . is just a part of life and our blessing of "reproduction".

But . . . an important part to remember is this . . .

Even though . . . our "OVARIES" are starting to slow down in production . . . and "will" eventually "STOP" production . . .

Our adrenals, brain, skin, heart, and fat cells . . . ARE "NOT" STOPPING THEIR PRODUCTION!!!

This is a "KEY" part to how the body manages the next stage of womanhood called "Menopause".

So, tomorrow . . . let's continue

But . . . as we age and our body changes . . .

The "transition" period between a woman's "reproductive" years . . . and "menopause" is called "Perimenopause".

And with this . . . this time frame can last for several years until the "ovaries" gradually "cease" with their function.

And symptoms in this time frame can be . . .

Irregular periods (longer, shorter, or missed intervals)

Hot flashes

Vaginal dryness

Mood changes (irritability, anxiety)

Sleep disturbances

Joint pain

And this all happens due to a "decline" of the OVARIES producing "estrogen" and "progesterone".

Now . . . this part of the cycle can start as early as the mid 30s . . . with the average woman starting the "perimenopause" in the mid 40s . . .

And this cycle of womanhood can last 4 - 10 years from start to finish.

So, tomorrow . . . let's continue with the next stage of womanhood . . .
